As you might remember, Kate, I'm a big fan of Ray Davies and The Kinks and Days is also one of my favourite songs of all time. I included in my eulogy for my mother at the funeral service and I'm planning for it to be played/sung at my own funeral - when the time comes, obvs.
Judging from your review, I don't think I could stomach actually going to see the play, but it does sound really interesting. Is it really as gory as you say?
Also, I may have already shared this, but I spent some time with Ray Davies a few years back as he was trying to raise funds and establish partnerships to digitise his vast archive of recordings and home videos from his touring days. He lives near me (and Ian) and I'd see him around a bit, although not lately and I imagine he is now pretty much housebound. A privilege to have met him, though. X
Yes, I remember us chatting about it a couple of times - once at Ivor's funeral, I think. It's a shame that you never got to work with him but probably quite a challenging job, I would think.
Hi Phil! Yes… it is really that gory! It is designed to shock and it is very successful at doing so. I did really enjoy it, though, but it is not going to be for everyone. Thank you so much for supporting my writing and reading my posts. I hope we get to meet again - let’s get Ian to organise a get together. X

He's 82 now so probably doesn't get out much.

Yes, it would be great to catch up, but I'm not sure how a reunion would go. Perhaps we could talk about that separately.
